Stools without backs are good if you're a bit short on space around your seating area. When you're not using them, they can be pushed under the worktop overhang, out of the way. These Z-shaped stools make a bit of a statement and would always look smart.

Although modern in style, these stools could be used in slightly more traditional kitchens (oak shaker, for instance) to give a contemporary edge, especially if the worktop is black (or partially black).

Black vinyl seat; chrome frame.

You could get away with these stools under standard worktops ... as long as none of the sitters are very heavily built.
