Try a Splash of Lime Green in Your Kitchen

Highly coloured, high gloss kitchens are going from strength to strength. Colours like plum or aubergine are very up-to-the-minute, as well as reds and oranges. If I was having a high gloss kitchen, though, I think I'd plump for lime green ... and I think I'd have a mix of finishes not a startling green throughout. The kitchen in the picture, with a kidney shaped lime green island, was designed by Matthew James Kitchens, using Parapan.

Parapan is solid acrylic and ideal for high gloss doors and panels ... especially for those wanting curves. These drawers are part of the kitchen shown above:

The problem with Parapan, though, is it's price. If you're working to a tight budget, then you probably need to look elsewhere. Searching around I came up with two more kitchens featuring lime green doors:

The one on the left uses painted high gloss doors from Coloro, whereas the one on the right shows Luxe Pistachio doors from DK Distribution.

These pictures demonstrate how good lime green looks ... with black, brown, cream or a crisp white. In fact lime green will go with almost any colour ... but the neutrals show it up to best effect.

If you're not brave enough to have such brightly coloured doors ... then consider a glass splashback or tiles. Topps Tiles have just introduced some brightly coloured glass splashbacks and tiles which include lime green:

The hob splashback is only 700mm high, though, so don't use it alone behind a gas hob.

Once you've got your lime green doors, splashbacks or tiles ... then look out for other green accessories. They don't have to be exactly the same shade ... look how well the two greens go together in the tea towel below:

These accessories are, of course, featured in Majjie's shop:
