I reported here a while ago, that Burbidge had introduced a new, painted in-frame kitchen called Petworth ... and that I reckoned it had the edge on the Second Nature Milton range (from PWS). Well ... guess what ... PWS have just launched a "Painted Collection" within their Second Nature kitchen range.
They have fourteen colours to choose from (as opposed to Burbidge's nine) and these colours are available not only in their Milton in-frame, shaker range but also in Broadoak (plain shaker) and the Eden and Cornell ranges (more traditional doors with a profile to the door frame and Cornell has a raised and fielded centre panel). The picture above is Cornell in Willow, whilst below is Broadoak in Cranberry, Ivory and Oak.

Most of the colours are pale and muted with a few darker shades thrown in ... ideal for mixing and matching in a larger kitchen. The China Blue and Cornflower, shown below in the Cornell Range, is quite a pleasing combination of colours, although I don't like the design of the display much. I think they're trying too hard to make it look traditional.

Here's the Milton range with a Suede island, Stone wall and tall units and oak base units:

And here's Milton again in Chalk. I find myself really liking crisp white, in-frame shaker styles (that was the style that attracted me to Burbidge's Petworth in the first place). It's a good marriage of brightness, simplicity and purity with the timeless solidity of the in-frame look (that sounds a bit airy fairy ... but I'm sure you know what I mean).
