Rococo Splashbacks

I've mentioned Bushboard's Omega worktops before ... Bushboard are very innovative with this range, which includes several glittery and sparkly options, as well as bold woodgrains and some interesting riven finishes. If you're into the new opulent look for kitchens, then also take a look at these Rococo Splashbacks.

The finish is called "frosted gloss" and is a mix of high gloss patterned laminate shapes on a matt laminate background ... only available as a splashback, in black or white (Rococo Noir and Rococo Blanc). Team them with relatively plain worktops that are predominantly black or white ... or, if you're really into bling ... add them to black or white sparkly finishes.

The Rococo Noir would also be good for enlivening an existing black worktop. If, for instance, you have one of the maple shaker kitchens with black laminate worktops that were so popular five years ago (for those who couldn't stretch to granite worktops) ... then you could bring the look bang up-to-date with one of these splashbacks ... and some more ornate handles. The handles would need to use the same holes as your original handles, though ... so, choose carefully ... but there are some good pewter bar handles about, with a slightly more ornate look, which could replace steel bars of the same length.

I'm not quite so impressed with Bushboard's marketing department. When I asked for samples of their laminate worktops ... they sent me just the Prima range ... which is distinctly less interesting than the Omega!
