An independent source of kitchen design advice & ideas
This section of the website is all about kitchen advice. It's aim is to help you in those early days, when you've decided you want a new kitchen but don't know where to start ... to provide advice about the process you go through before you actually get that gleaming new kitchen ... as well as tips on how to actually buy a kitchen.
It should perhaps be titled "kitchen UK buyers guide" because that's what it's all about ... choosing and buying a kitchen in the UK. So much of the information you find on the internet actually originates from the USA and there are quite significant differences between the countries when it comes to kitchens. Beware of sites which talk about kitchen remodelling and kitchen counters and cabinets. In this country, we normally do a kitchen replacement (not a remodel) ... using kitchen worktops (not counters) and kitchen units (although I've noticed a few cabinets sneaking into UK kitchens recently!).

You'll find a lot of Majjie's blogs and articles about kitchens, listed in each section, which give advice and information about almost every aspect of designing and buying a kitchen. Some of them are from elsewhere on this site, others (which will open in a new window) come from Majjie's Kitchen Corner over at Yell.com, where Majjie is a guest writer. Then, if you register yourself on this site, you can download Majjie's Kitchen Design Guide - Before You Start absolutely free. It will explain what different types of kitchen there are, in the UK, and where your money goes when you buy one ... aswell as asking if you really do need a new kitchen at all!
