Electrolux used to be the least expensive and most basic of the AEG-Electrolux Group of appliances. It's much more of a flagship brand now, though.

Electrolux carries out a lot of research - some of it impressive but rather blue sky - from the Electrolux Design Lab - the rest more practical and consumer focussed.

Still aims to be reasonably priced and mass market ... but look out for new innovations, such as the Inspiro oven which has sensors to automatically detect what you're cooking and calculate the time and temperatue needed. Reasonable quality and reliability.

Good for free standing cookers, as well as built-in appliances
