Chairs
Of course, if you're buying a table, you'll need chairs to go with it ... but you may also need chairs for lowered breakfast bar areas in your kitchen ... or to go with a second hand table.
Some antique farmhouse tables are a delight; adding character to a traditional style kitchen ... or providing a contrast to more modern kitchen units.
Antique chairs are less of a delight, though. Our ancestors seem to have had smaller bottoms, somehow ... or perhaps it's all those years of the kids leaning back and balancing on two of the legs ... but antique chairs are rarely very robust.
So - even if you're going for an antique table - Majjie suggests that you invest in new chairs.  Norman Cherner style dining chair(Click on the picture to enlarge the image) I love these modern looking Norman Cherner style chairs. They're just right to fit round a modern glass table, for instance ... and they look just that bit classier than the chairs with metal legs. They're made from moulded plywood and can be veneered in oak, walnut or rosewood - with a 10 -12 week delivery time (they're made to order). |
 Toronto Chairs(Click on the picture to enlarge the image) These are ideal inexpensive and cheerful kitchen chairs - modern and available in a choice of colours. They're made from maple veneer with a painted finish and the chrome legs reflect the paint colour too. Be warned that the yellow has a hint of green to it - there's also a bright pink and pastel lilac and blue-grey. |

 Verner Panton style dining chairs - fibreglass(Click on the picture for more of our thoughts or to enlarge the image) If you want a sturdier version of the Panton style chair - then try these commercial quality fibreglass models. They come in the same white, black and red colours - but with the addition of baby blue, yellow and orange. Not all the colours are kept in stock, though - you may need to wait for 10-12 weeks for them to be made to order. |
