Do you fancy an old master on your walls? Or a still life? Or just something very traditional for the heart of the home? Lots of rich dark colours here. Go for a plain black frame - or give tradition a twist and try polished silver or smooth polished gold. It's a nice transposition - having a smooth modern frame with a very traditional looking image.

It would add a touch of tradition and class to your kitchen - without interfering much with the colour scheme at all. It would blend with almost any style of kitchen, except ultra modern. Although, with the flat brushed silver frame and black mount, I think it could look really interesting with modern white or black units. I quite like the idea of a picture like this in a modern, white, high gloss kitchen too - with the right frame (but perhaps that's just me). The colours are muted but effective enough to add warmth to a traditional white or cream kitchen. Or - you could accentuate the colour by adding a gold frame and a pale green mount. |
