The big appliances in your kitchen are vitally important - both to the way the kitchen looks - and to how you are able to work in it. This isn't a comprehensive list of appliances you might like ... it's just a list of suggestions with some tips and hints on how to use the appliances in your kitchen
 Belling FSE601 STA Free Standing Cooker with Induction Hob(Click on the picture for more details or to enlarge the image) Supplier: Appliance City Guide price: £659 This was the first free standing cooker in the UK to have a double oven and an induction hob. I lamented the lack of such a cooker back in August 2008 ... so lots of praise to Belling for producing one (although I doubt if it was due to my blog!). And even more praise for making it affordable. |
 Caple 100cm Linear gas on Glass Hob(Click on the picture for more details or to enlarge the image) Supplier: Appliance City Guide price: £765 Linear hobs are relatively new - but they make sense don't they (as long as you're not short of worktop space) - much easier to keep an eye on your pans. |
 CDA 6Q5 Designer Multifunction Single Oven(Click on the picture for more details or to enlarge the image) Supplier: Appliance City Guide price: £565 If you can only fit a single oven into your kitchen and you want to make it look a bit more interesting, then consider this oven from CDA. It's very reasonably priced and I reckon it could look stunning in the right kitchen. It could lift your look from "bog standard" to designer without breaking the bank. |
 CDA ECN Cooker Hoods(Click on the picture for more details or to enlarge the image) Supplier: Appliance City Guide price: £220 (ECN91) This is one of my favourite cooker hoods with clean lines and not looking too intrusive, even in smaller kitchens. It's very reasonably priced and can be used in ducted or recirculating modes. It has a twin fan motor, with 3 speeds and push button control and the aluminium grease filters can be cleaned in the dishwasher. |
 ELICA Elibloc HT80 Canopy Cooker Hood(Click on the picture for more details or to enlarge the image) Supplier: Appliance City Guide price: £249 ELICA make some of the most stunning cooker hoods in the world ... so this one might seem a bit tame in comparison ... but if you're having a canopy extractor fitted into furniture, above a large hob or range cooker, then this is the hood I'd recommend. |
 Gorenje Retro Fridges and Fridge-Freezers(Click on the picture for more details or to enlarge the image) Supplier: Appliance City Guide price: £649 - £899 Gorenje is a very large Slovenian company which produces reasonably priced and well designed appliances. Their retro fridge-freezers, in particular are good looking with lots of colours to choose from. |
 Whirlpool AKT 477IX Mixed Gas and Induction Hob(Click on the picture for more details or to enlarge the image) Supplier: Appliance City Guide price: £599 For those of you who fancy the idea of an induction hob but can't abandon your love of gas ... this hob is ideal. It has 3 gas on glass rings - ideal for those who hate cleaning the large unwieldy pan supports on standard gas hobs - and one induction ring. Dimensions: 770mm wide |
