Way Hay! I'm a Shopkeeper

Well, after promising, for ages, that it was about to happen, Majjie's Shop has finally opened it's virtual doors. There aren't a huge number of products in my shop, as yet ... because they are all hand picked ... there's no mass import of products from any one supplier. I will be adding further suppliers and picking out more stuff that I think would look good, or be useful, in your kitchens ... as I get the time.

Many thanks to Alfred of Likemind Services, for holding my hand through the process and for sorting out all the glitches. (And thanks also to Amanda of Truly Ace, without whose designs, the shop would look a lot less smart).

In answer to those of you with a sceptical nature ... yes, this is a blatant attempt to make money out of this site. The main aim, though, is just to raise the funds to keep this website updated and lively. The services of Alfred and Amanda are extremely good value ... but they're not free ... and time I spend here is time away from my paid work of designing kitchens.

I often get asked to recommend kitchen accessories, or kitchen furniture styles ... so, if you want to know what I think would look good in your kitchen ... have a look in Majjie's Shop.

I've also got kitchen gifts in mind. I know they're not always welcome ... don't give your wife, or mother, a new set of pans for Christmas! But some people love a new gadget ... and there's a splendid Christmas cake, for those of you who don't want to spend too much time slaving away in your kitchen.

The other way of raising money from and for a website is to have something like GoogleAds on the pages ... but you won't see any of those here. I think they interfere with the useful content and I want to vet what products and which suppliers I feature. You won't, for instance, see any promotions here, for direct sellers who come round to your house and apply high pressure sales tactics to get you to buy on the night. I don't think that's the best way to buy a kitchen ... even though it's the way I got started in kitchen design ... but that was many moons ago and is another story entirely ...
