Well, they're finally here ... the vegetable pictures on black canvas that I was talking about a year ago. It's been a really busy year for designing kitchens and that has delayed work on the kitchen pictures. The images that I showed you last year have been adjusted and the backgrounds have been darkened, so that the colourful fruit and veg images really stand out.
Putting photographs onto canvas results in some blurring of the images, because of the texture of the canvas, so these black background pictures were designed to be very sharp and dramatic. The samples have just come back and I love them. They're just what I had in mind. Here they are:
If you look at the vegetables and fruit section in the Kitchen Canvas department of Majjie's shop, you'll see selections of the pictures available - grouped into colour themes. These are great to use as accent colours in a kitchen. If you love purple, for instance, you can go for the three Purple Veg pictures - and have those put onto canvas:
They're not really all purple, of course, but add in a few purple pots and a tea towel and you'd have a subtle blend of colours with purple as a theme.
There are groups of pictures for an orange or red theme (or both, if you go for the fruit pictures), there's a creamy white selection and naturally, there's plenty of green.
Of course, in some kitchens you might want to pick a red, an orange and a purple picture ... or any other combination. That's why we have the Choose Your Own Fruit and Veg canvas picture set. You can pick any of our black background pictures (don't forget to tell us exactly which ones you want) and make up your own set of three (as in the real samples shown at the top).
In my kitchen, for example, I might choose the butternut squash, the red cabbage and the cauliflower, to mix with my oak units and beigy-brown worktops ... and I'd be looking for pale green blinds:
In fact, I might have to get those made up ...
Let us know if there are any particular types of image that you'd like to see available for future kitchen canvas pictures ... we'd like to expand the choice (although it might take us some time to develop them!).
