I like the look of this drainage rack. It's from London-based design partnership Black&Blum and was inspired by modern architectural design. The spikes are there to hold your wine glasses and champagne flutes ... for which standard drainers are not well suited ... but these are the items that you're most likely to wash by hand, in these days of the dishwasher.

It's made from polypropylene and stainless steel and both the cutlery holder and drainage tray are removable. It also has a flip up drainage spout, so water can drain into the sink - or be retained in the tray - depending on where you put it.

So, it's a very practical piece of kit. It's the colour, though, that attracted my interest. I love kitchen accessories which add a splash of accent colour to the kitchen. Lime green is great with whites, creams and coffee colours ... as well as with darker wood finishes, like walnut.
